We manufacture at Boje Pokhari, Imadol, and sell direct from the same building. There is no importer, no distributor and no showroom chain in between, so the price you pay in Lalitpur is the workshop price. Leave at least 18 inches between the sofa front and your table. For a 12ft drawing room wall, a 7ft three-seater plus one single chair fits comfortably; an L-shape needs 7ft x 5ft of clear floor.
Most Kathmandu apartment stairs turn tightly at the landing. We build split-frame sofas that come up in two parts and are joined inside the flat, so nothing has to be lifted over a balcony railing.
Seasoned Sal or teak frames last 15–20 years. Untreated pine or particle-board frames sag within three monsoons. Ask any seller which wood the frame is; if they cannot answer, that is your answer.
Tight-weave poly-cotton and leatherette wipe clean and resist the dust of the dry season. Velvet looks beautiful but holds dust; we recommend it only for rooms that stay closed.
