Furniture in Thaiba & Godawari — Custom Made & Delivered from Our Imadol Workshop

Thaiba, Lubhu, Badegaun and the climb up to Godawari make up the green southern edge of Lalitpur — farmland turning into low-density housing, weekend homes, resorts and retreat properties along the Godawari road, with the botanical garden and Phulchowki rising behind. Plots are large, houses are set in gardens, and construction is still mostly individual rather than colony or apartment.

The climate up here is genuinely different from the Valley floor and it matters for wood. Godawari is cooler and noticeably damper, mist sits in the valley through the monsoon, and unseasoned timber will warp and grow mould faster than it does in Imadol. For Thaiba and Godawari deliveries we insist on properly kiln-dried or long-air-seasoned stock and a sealed finish on all six faces of a panel, including the hidden back and underside that cheaper makers leave raw.

The other pattern here is hospitality. Resorts, homestays and event venues along the Godawari road furnish in batches — a dozen matching beds, twenty dining chairs, reception and lounge seating — and need pieces that look handmade but repair easily. We build those to a repeatable spec and keep the drawings, so a replacement piece two years later matches the original.
