Almost nothing in a Kathmandu Valley home is a standard size. Ceilings run from 8ft to 10ft, bedrooms have beams crossing them, apartment stairs turn tightly at the landing, and a pillar always lands where you wanted the wardrobe. Made-to-order furniture is not a luxury here — it is the only way to use the space you actually paid for.
Step 1 & 2
Design consultation and free site measurement
Start with a message on Viber or WhatsApp, or walk into the Imadol showroom. We talk through the room, how many people use it, storage you actually need, and a budget band. Then we visit and measure — free anywhere inside Kathmandu Valley.
- Wall lengths, ceiling height, beam and pillar positions recorded to the inch.
- Socket, switch and water-line positions marked so nothing is built over them.
- Stair width, lift size and door swing checked so the finished piece can be carried in.
- Daylight direction noted, which decides shutter finish and desk orientation.
- Existing furniture and flooring photographed so tones can be matched.
Step 3
Drawings, 3D layout and a fixed price
You receive a dimensioned drawing for every piece, plus a 3D view for kitchens, wardrobes and TV walls. Revisions are free until you approve — it is far cheaper to change a line on paper than a panel in ply.
The quotation lists material grade by name — for example BWP plywood carcass, 1mm laminate shutter, soft-close hinges — so you can compare our price against any other quote line by line. There are no vague allowances that grow later.
Deposit terms: an agreed deposit on approval to begin production, balance on delivery and installation. We accept Cash, Bank transfer, eSewa, Khalti, Fonepay. For larger staged projects we can split payments against manufacturing milestones.
Step 4
Built in our workshop, not on your floor
Timber is air-dried and kiln-treated before it is cut, which is what stops joints from opening when the room goes from monsoon damp to dry winter heat. Panels are cut and edge-banded at Imadol on machines, so tolerances are tighter and your home does not become a carpentry site for three weeks.
We use manual mechanisms wherever a choice exists — lever recliners, gas-strut bed lifts, hand-operated pull-outs. Nothing in your furniture should stop working because the power did.
Step 5
Delivery, installation and after-sales
Our own team delivers and installs — free inside Kathmandu Valley. Large sofas are built as split frames for tight apartment stairs and joined inside your flat. Wardrobes and kitchens are scribed to the wall on site so there is no dust gap.
Two-year joinery warranty, one year on hardware. Because we are a ten-minute ride from most of Lalitpur, service visits actually happen.
